Jesse Irizarry

About Jesse Irizarry

Jesse is a strength coach and writer. He has over fifteen years of professional experience. He began as a college S&C coach and moved on to found JDI Barbell, an NYC based gym which specializes in foundational principle-based strength training, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, and combat sports.
Jesse has competed in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting but also enjoys and practices everything from Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, to different Yoga practices, to trail running and hiking.

He wants to practice and enjoy whatever deeply interests him, encourage others to do the same, and tell the story of it all.
